Job Description:
Reports to the Director of Admissions and Transfer Affairs. This position serves as student service representative at the Welcome Center, assists students, staff and the general public on a variety of admission and transfer related matters, including academic degrees, testing services, admission and transfer related policies and procedures. - Assists visitors and students in person, phone and e-mail correspondence, providing admission forms, quick information and other related enrollment service materials and admission status information to prospective applicants.
- Evaluates application documentation, ensuring completeness, authenticity, and readiness for file review and acceptance into the college.
- Maintains a daily log of applications, transcripts, and inquiries for daily data entry processing to ensure 48 hour turn-around of received applications.
- Serves as back-up to Admissions during non-peak periods.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in office work or substitutions for experience as described in State Classification Specifications; computer proficiency with Microsoft office programs, such as Word and Excel; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume office; ability to work as part of the College's frontline team, as well as work independently; excellent communication, organizational skills and writing skills; ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with admissions, outreach, and recruitment policies and procedures in a community college setting; bilingual (English/Spanish); Crystal software system experience; Banner Information System experience; and Associate's degree or higher. COMPENSATION: Weekly salary: $540.29. Grade 11. (Candidates might qualify for placement above entry level salary if they are currently employed in the state system and transfer without a break in service, subject to verification by the Dean of Human Resources), plus a comprehensive State benefits package. STARTING DATE: December, 2009 HOURS: 37.5 hours. (Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.) FUNDING SOURCE: State (subject to available funds)
