Job Description:

Reports to the Director of Admissions and Transfer Affairs.  This position will perform the data entry for admissions recruitment from local high schools, agency visits, college fairs, and all other community outreach.  Coordinate preparation for selective admission file review.  Prepares general applicant files, cover sheets, and performs specific functions related to each.  Coordinates HCC's e-mail and voicemail inquiries with mailings and communication plans, assists with preparation for on- and off-campus recruitment events, supporting professional staff with organization of event and recruitment planning, data entry and report processing.  Processing internal and external mailings, assisting counselors with follow-up outreach to prospective student populations for all programs.  Serves as back-up to the Welcome Center during peak enrollment periods.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in office work or substitutions for experience as described in State Classification Specifications; computer proficiency with Microsoft office programs, such as Word and Excel; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume office; ability to work as part of the College's frontline team, as well as work independently; excellent communication, organizational skills and writing skills; ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with admissions, outreach, and recruitment policies and procedures in a community college setting; bilingual (English/Spanish); Crystal software system experience; Banner Information System experience; and Associate's degree or higher.

COMPENSATION: Weekly salary: $540.29. Grade 11. (Candidates might qualify for placement above entry level salary if they are currently employed in the state system and transfer without a break in service, subject to verification by the Dean of Human Resources), plus a comprehensive State benefits package. 

STARTING DATE:  December, 2009

HOURS: 37.5 hours. (Ability to work some evenings and weekends as required.)

FUNDING SOURCE:  State (subject to available funds)
