Job Description:

Incumbents perform janitorial, custodial, housekeeping and mechanical tasks; perform various manual tasks required for the routine maintenance of campus buildings and grounds.

1st and 2nd shift positions available.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Cleaning experience; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to use a variety of cleaning equipment; ability to understand and apply the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedure specifications, standards, and guidelines governing assigned unit activities; ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others; ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time; ability to move heavy objects; ability to climb and work on ladders or scaffolds; physical stamina and endurance; manual dexterity; mechanical aptitude; self motivated; team player; ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.

*A physical examination (at the College's expense) will be required of the candidate who is offered employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma.

COMPENSATION: Weekly salary: $504.84. Grade 9. (Candidates might qualify for placement above entry level salary if they are currently employed in the state system and transfer without a break in service, subject to verification by the Dean of Human Resources), plus a comprehensive State benefits package. 

STARTING DATE:  November, 2009

HOURS: 40 hours per week, 2nd shift (Monday through Thursday: 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. and Friday 1:00 p.m. - 9 p.m.) and 1st shift (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)

FUNDING SOURCE:  State (subject to available funds)
