Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Vice President for Administration & Finance, the bookstore manager oversees the general operation of the bookstore and the contract for vending services on campus. Directly supervises the activities and performance of 4 full-time and 3-5 contracted part-time employees year round, plus 20-25 contracted part-time employees during bookstore rush for each semester. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail, Accounting, or Human Resource Management; Minimum of five years related experience in a college store environment, with at least four years as a manager or supervisor; Demonstrated managerial and entrepreneurial skills along with excellent interpersonal skills; Strong written and oral communication skills; Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree with attendance at various educational programs sponsored by NACS or CSNE; Certifiable forklift operator. COMPENSATION: Salary Range: $62,800-75,400, plus a comprehensive State benefits package.
